We have recently had the benefit and pleasure knowing and working with Jay Powell. Jay was referred to us by KenCarin Architecture when we were in the process of building a complicated deck and planter that they had designed. The contractor we originally hired had not followed the plans and his workmanship was a disaster. We let him go. Jay came in and corrected all of prior contractors errors and completed the project to perfection.

I employed Jay Powell in the Fall of 2007 to design and execute the remodel of an outdated spa room off the master bedroom of my home, a project that I had been wanting to complete for many years.
Jay’s design work is skilled and thoughtful. He is reliable and efficient, and his craftsmanship was beyond my every expectation. He carefully and patiently listened to my ideas and then guided me in good decisions, carrying out every concept as he had promised. The result is a beautiful sanctuary of a room, with a steam shower and a lovely integration of materials.

Jay Powell came to work for me as a general carpenter in the rebuilding and expansion of a wood frame house built in 1907. Together we worked on this project for approximately eighteen months beginning in June of 2006.
This project was complicated, involving everything from foundation work, heavy beam setting, etc. to drywall and exterior and interior finish work. I felt fortunate to have Jay on the job, his experience and knowledge of the work exceeded what one would have normally expected and as a result the two of us were able to move through the work smoothly and comfortably.
As a result of this experience I can recommend Jay as being punctual, attentive to detail, focused and diligent.
Jay Powell worked for our company from June of 1993 until he returned to school at the end of August 1993. He returned to our employ in February of 1994 and worked until the end of the summer.
